Frankie proposed when we were standing in the Dovecote of Boldt Castle, which is located on Heart Island in Alexandria Bay on the St. Lawrence River (on the NY-Canada border).
The castle has a beautiful story about George Boldt who built the castle for his wife.
The island was originally called "hart" island for the male deers that lived on the five-acre island. After George Boldt purchased the island, he ordered construction workers to blast away parts of the island to shape it into a heart. Awww.
